Over the past several weeks, I had the opportunity to work with the team at BLISCare on a consulting project, focusing on strategy, communication, and organizational growth. The experience was both insightful and rewarding, allowing me to engage deeply with their goals, assess their current processes, and help drive initiatives that aim to strengthen their market presence and internal culture.
Project Overview: Elevating BLISCare
The project, titled “Project Elevation,” centered around aligning BLISCare‘s strategic initiatives with its long-term goals. The company, known for providing post-operative care services, was facing internal and external challenges around perception, communication, and execution. My role was to help identify growth opportunities, create a clear strategy document, and prioritize initiatives that would accelerate growth.
One of the major highlights was working with the leadership team to clarify the positioning of BLISCare products and services. By mapping out the customer lifecycle and redefining the company’s internal perception of their offerings, we began reshaping the narrative—moving away from the notion of BLISCare as an optional add-on and instead positioning it as a core, value-driven service.
Key Wins
During my time at BLISCare, we achieved several key milestones:
- Strategic Direction: We created a comprehensive strategy document that clarified BLISCare’s market approach and internal priorities. This document became a reference point for decision-making and team alignment.
- Customer Lifecycle Mapping: We identified key stages in the customer journey and established ownership for each, ensuring that every part of the lifecycle had a clear decision-maker driving progress.
- Product Matrix Development: A product matrix was developed to better differentiate BLISCare’s offerings, helping the team tailor their sales approach to meet client needs.
- Workshops and Prioritization: I proposed and facilitated workshops to identify high-impact growth opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and plan out a minimal viable product (MVP) approach for their top initiatives.
- Sales Strategy: A consultative sales model was outlined for the new BLISCare Basic and Volume Discount products, providing a more targeted and personalized approach to sales.
Key Learnings
Beyond the wins, there were valuable insights and learning moments that shaped our approach to the project:
- Team Engagement: While the team was generally receptive to the new direction, there was room for improvement in terms of engagement and proactivity. Moving forward, encouraging more ownership over specific projects and decisions will be key to increasing motivation and faster execution.
- Clarifying Roles: One key observation was the need for more clearly defined roles and responsibilities within the team, especially when it came to sales. Defining ownership over specific tasks will help ensure that projects move forward more efficiently.
- Process and Accountability: We identified that some processes lacked consistency and rigor, especially in documentation and decision-making. Instituting clear, repeatable processes—such as a QA checklist for internal projects—helped the team better track progress and maintain quality across initiatives.
